The article discusses the phenomenon of the information bubble and its impact on contemporary international relations. An analogy was used to Tolkien's palantir from Orthanc, which accurately illustrates this phenomenon on the example of the world of Middle-earth created by him and the War of the Ring taking place in it. Both, its importance to states and individuals were taken into account, combining the effects of the palantir's influence on the user who is not prepared to use its powers. They have been transferred to the modern Internet user using social media, which for many are both the whole world and the only source of words read every day.
