[Czesław Miłosz’s autobiographical narratives in the “poetics of summoning”]In Czesław Miłosz’s autobiographical narratives, written in the Orphic poetics of becoming visible, the past reveals itself as an “object”, which is there, passes or perpetually constitutes itself anew. The events and persons summoned from the past become objects which can be aesthetically experienced anew with each reading (and not with interpretation as in Jacques Derrida and John D. Caputo), that is with summoning into intimacy. The metaphoric voice of literature makes it possible to present one’s own and somebody else’s existence as something that is escaping, remaining in an entropic dispersion, in a constant planting out, in a never-ending process of emanation. A literary occurring of existence takes place in an ever-imperfective tense while the capturing of one’s own identities in Miłosz’s oeuvre serves above all the purpose of experiencing the self, and not the utopian desire to reach “the truth” about oneself or a moralistic confession of the hitherto unknown “facts” from ones own past.
