Abstract

[„Znicz” magazine]

The article presents the role that “Znicz” magazine played in 1930-1939 in shaping the social and cultural attitudes of the youth associated in “Wici”, and in the struggle against the state and church authorities that opposed its existence. “Znicz” magazine was one of few periodicals of the catholic opposition, which means it was a rather unique phenomenon in 1920’s-1930’s Poland. The article analyses the problems discussed in the  magazine, its editorial form and the circle of its creators.
