[Research topics in MA and BA theses defended in the Institute of Scientific Information and Library Science, Pedagogical University of Cracow, in years 1992-2005]

The research topics dealt with in MA and BA theses defended in years 1992-2005 are thematically varied, yet they can all be subsumed in different fields of bibliology. The research problems can be divided into following subject-groups: history of books and publishers, history and social function of libraries, bibliography and scientific information, history of the press, history of Polish and foreign literature, literary culture, readership, history of science and biographology. The MA and BA seminars in 1992-2005 were conducted both by librarianship scientists and by researchers in related branches of human science. In this period, 1712 papers were written, on a wide range of different subjects. The papers focused both on large centres with great research possibilities, and on smaller ones, usually the birthplaces of authors. The research topics are a very good source and statistical material for investigations into the readership of 1990s and later years, as well as into the state and condition of Polish libraries, press and editorial centres, and cultural and educational institutions.
